Babagana Zulum, the governor of Borno state, paid a condolence visit to Chibok LGA following the recent attacks in three communities in the area.
In the LGA of Kawtakare, Korohuma, and Pemi, suspected Boko Haram insurgents assaulted.
The insurgents are said to have killed four people and set fire to 110 buildings.
On Monday, the governor met with the relatives of 22 women and two men who were allegedly kidnapped during the raid.
“We are here in Chibok to commiserate with you, immediate families of our sisters and brothers abducted as well as four of our brothers killed by the Boko Haram terrorists in these unfortunate incidents. We share your pains and we pray this act will not happen again,” he said.
In addition to the 24 individuals taken, three people were killed by the rebels during separate attacks on the three settlements, according to Umar Ibrahim, who informed the governor on the attacks.
He stated a total of 110 structures were burned, including 73 houses, 33 shops, and four churches, as well as eight vehicles and three tricycles.
Zulum ordered that a report be given to him detailing all of the insurgents’ damages in the three communities.
He also praised the chairman’s responsiveness as a leader.
“Let me specifically commend the efforts of the local government chairman, because despite the very limited resources, he has been doing his best to ensure that dividends of democracy are provided in Chibok,” he said.
According to the governor, insurgents have attacked four LGAs in recent months: Biu, Askira, Chibok, and Damboa.
He stated that his administration will not stop offering further assistance to security personnel in order to meet the problems.
Following his meeting with the affected families in Chibok, the governor met with the chiefs of security agencies to examine security gaps and ways to improve community security.
