Young Nigerians, in the opinion of Nigerian entrepreneur and economist Atedo Peterside, will define the agenda for the country’s upcoming general elections.
The majority of the electorate being young people, according to Mr. Peterside, who appeared on Friday’s episode of Politics Today on Channels Television, ensures that their influence will be seen on the results of the elections.

“The younger generation now makes up the bulk of our electorate, which is made up entirely of young people. From what they have been writing and saying, they have a greater understanding of the problems and how some people are misleading this nation.
The fact that many young people between the ages of 18 and 35 are now very engaged in the political future of our country and will set the agenda up until the elections in February, according to Mr. Peterside, is a good thing for the nation.
The investment banker went on to say that at this point in the history of the country, no one can deceive the people by telling them blatant lies since they have already walked down that path.
Prior to 2023, the youths are now very politically engaged and cannot wait for the election to start, in his opinion, this is the fundamental shift that has occurred.

Mr. Peterside further argued that the major parties no longer have the same influence over the population as they once had, signalling a paradigm shift in Nigeria’s political scene.
