Atraditional ruler, okiri mekun II, the Onimeran of meiran kingdom, Oba (Dr) Samuel Awoyemi Adisa Oroja has commended a courageous youth, Miss Elizabeth Orokpo for the role played in discovering the whereabout of a missing aged man identified as Mr.Ganiu.
Oba Awoyemi who spoke with insightnaijatv, said the discovery of the whereabout of the man was due to the publicity done by the broadcasting station, which has yielded a positive result.
Oba Awoyemi also called on other youths to imbibe the good gesture shown by Miss Orokpo by supporting the elderly man and providing him food and shelter before associating with friends and family.
The traditional ruler commended the effort of the media in contributing towards building responsible youths via provision of educative programmes.
He also implore Government at all levels to pay more attention to youth development and engagement in other for them to add value to the society.
Speaking while receiving the certificate of honour, Miss Elizabeth Orokpo who gave an insight of the rescue mission said that the elderly man was seen helpless somewhere around Ikorodu and having heard the announcement of a missing aged man, she picked her phone to communicate one of the staff of the station.
Miss Orokpo who is an unemployed graduate also appeal to Government at all levels to provide more employment opportunities to youth in other to be self reliant.
She however enjoined Nigerians to do more of humanitarian services and support the less privileged irrespective of the tribe, religion or social cultural group.
