Members of the foremost Yoruba youth group, Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) sympathize with family and friends of the late senator Buruji Kashamu who died of COVID-19 complications.
The National President (YCYW), Barr. Oladotun Hassan in his address describe the late Senator Kashamu as man of indelible character and a philanthropist whose services to humanity has impact in the life of many.
According to the President of the youth group, “The Council received with shock the news of the death of Senator Buruji Kashamu, while commiserating with his immediate and extended families, friends and associates, we pray to God to grant them fortitude to bear the great loss and equally grant the departed soul eternal rest”.
The group also frowned at the condolence letter issued by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to the Ogun State Government saying its unelderly and unkind to speak ill of the dead.
He noted that since the late senator is yet to be pronounced guilty of all of the allegations before his demise by court, he should be convicted in death.
The group also called on Nigerians to adhere to COVID-19 protocol by using face mask on regular basis, avoiding crowded places, washing of hands and other guidelines.
