Deji Adeyanju, the convener of the Concerned Nigerian Movement, has disclosed why Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Labour and Employment, will maintain endorsing Peter Obi as the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.
According to Adeyanju, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is using this tactic to split the opposition in advance of the general elections in 2023.
He added that the APC, particularly in the South-East, might have plans to back the former governor of Anambra State.
In order to enrage Dino Melaye, Adeyanju persuaded Keyamo to keep claiming that Obi is more capable than the Peoples Democratic Party’s Atiku Abubakar.
This was said by the activist in response to Melaye’s criticism of Keyamo on Saturday.
In response to Keyamo’s statement that Obi is more qualified than Atiku, Melaye said that the minister is under the effect of narcotics.
Adeyanju stated in a series of tweets, “If I’m Keyamo, I’ll keep stating Obi is more capable than Atiku to irritate Dino and even keep endorsing Peter.
“The more APC promotes LP, the more they divide the opposition. They might have plans to fund LP, especially in SE. Politics is very simple to understand.
“Dino is so angry Keyamo said Obi is more competent than Atiku in that interview. Like I said yesterday, it’s a good strategy for APC to keep promoting Peter Obi. It’s a perfect strategy. It’s a win-win for the APC.”
