Abubakar Bukola Saraki, the former President of the Nigerian Senate, has disclosed why the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, was defeated by the current All Progressives Congress, APC, in past elections.
According to the presidential candidate for 2023, the existing government came to power as a result of the PDP’s poor performance in previous elections.
Saraki said this through Iyorweuse Hagher, the chairman of Bukola Saraki’s presidential advocacy campaign council, according to InsightnaijaTV.
On Friday, Hagher spoke with PDP members in Dutse, Jigawa State’s capital city, ahead of the 2023 general elections, saying the APC administration had brought nothing but pain to the country.
Nobody is applauding Nigeria because of the current administration’s bad leadership, he said, because the country has become the poorest nation on the planet.
Hagher said: “APC could not have come into power if the PDP had not broken its ranks and went to join other groups to take power.
“We see they have done nothing, they came with no agenda except the desire to acquire power and they have shown the brutality of power against the citizens of this country”
“Today nobody is secured and nobody is celebrating Nigeria because we are the poorest nation on earth under the APC administration.”
According to Hagher, the country is in desperate need of an intelligent and smart president who will be proud of the country’s citizens around the world.
Nigerians are tired of the APC regime, he said, and are searching for a candidate to wash their tears away from the difficult condition.
“Nigerians everywhere in the world will be proud to say they are Nigerians. They will carry their green passports everywhere and they say now we have a president who is highly intelligent, smart who can stand shoulder to shoulder with any other president in the world” the chairman stated.
InsightnaijaTV understands that Higher and his committee members were in Jigawa to ask for the support of the PDP delegates for Sen. Bukola Saraki in his presidential ambition.
