One of Toke Makinwa’s “biggest fears” as a little girl was the death of her parents in a house fire. This revelation, made public by the well-known Nigerian media personality, left her feeling deeply uneasy and apprehensive.
In an interview on her show, Makinwa asked her guest about a recent fire incident that damaged his Lagos home in August. She then shared a similar story about her family with Ayo Makun, commonly known as AY, and recalled the tragic experience with him.

“I was a child victim of a house fire, she said, and sadly, both of my parents died as a result of that, that’s one of my biggest fears.”
AY promptly apologised and said that his house caught fire when he was on tour in Canada and that he woke up to find many missed calls. He claimed that he had only recently learned of Toke Makinwa’s fire incident.
“My Thanksgiving point was knowing my family was on vacation. I woke up to about 78 missed calls that day. Any time I see something like that, I just know something has happened. I opened my phone and saw my house on Instablog,” he remarked.
