In Jigawa State, over the weekend, a tragic traffic accident left at least fourteen individuals with various degrees of injuries.
As seen by InsightnaijaTV, the accident occurred on Saturday night by Boarding Primary School, on Hadejia/Kano Road in Ringim town, in the state’s Ringim Local Government Area.
Two individuals perished in the accident involving a BTW Toyota Costa, white in color, with registration number FTA 458 HV KAT STA, belonging to College of Health Science & Technology Funtua, Katsina State, according to the State Command of the Nigerian Police Force.
The van was carrying the driver and 38 passengers who were traveling back to Katsina from Hadejia after attending a friend’s wedding in the state’s Hadejia Local Government, according to the Command’s spokesman, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam.
According to him, he struck a vehicle with the registration number RNG 580 XC that was being driven by Ibrahim Hafizu of the Unguwa Uku Tarauni Local Government Area in Kano State as soon as he arrived at Ringim Boarding Primary School.
The staff added that individuals hurt in the collision were taken for medical care at Ringim General Hospital right away.
“Two persons, one Usman Ibrahim and Ahmadu Hamisu died while twelve others sustained injuries,” the PPRO said.
He noted that the Truck’s driver was arrested and that investigation was ongoing.
