“All we want is for Atiku to win the presidency of Nigeria by any means necessary. That’s why I made the decision to resign from the BoT, Sen. Walid Jibril.
“I spoke with the candidate about this, and he agreed with me. I’ll be given a bigger job if the party wins, Mr. Jibril promised.
Adophus Wabara, a former Senate president, has been chosen to serve as the board’s interim chairman.
However, Mr. Jibril’s decision was widely praised during the 97th National Executive Council, or NEC, meeting of the party, which was held just after the BoT meeting.
Jibrin served the party honourably over the years as a founding member, according to the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu, who announced Jibrin’s decision to the NEC members.
