In Pambegua, Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, where Gyadi Gyadi, a Divisional Police Officer, was kidnapped by terrorists, Nigerian Army soldiers have started a search and rescue operation.
The Chief Superintendent of Police was abducted on Monday morning along Kaduna-Birnin Gwari Road, InsightnaijaTV reports.
He allegedly ran into the shooters in the neighborhood of “Korna Ruwa and was whisked away to an unknown location.”
On Monday night, military sources told newsmen that soldiers were searching the region and would do all was took to save the top police officer.
“Our guys are in the bush now looking to see maybe he can be rescued. We got a distress call that a man going to Birnin Gwari was abducted by gunmen, it was when we arrived at where his car was parked that we realised he is a senior police officer,” a top army officer told SaharaReporters.
Gyadi was kidnapped just a few days after terrorists kidnapped CSP Haruna Abdulmalik, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Nasarawa Eggon Local Government in Nasarawa State.
Kaduna has experienced a wave of violent attacks in recent months that have resulted in killings and abductions of locals.
On March 28, gunmen ambushed a train headed for Kaduna, killing eight persons and kidnapping a number of others.
The gunmen currently have control of some of the abducted persons.
A military base in Birnin Gwari LGA of Kaduna State was attacked by militants a few days after the train attack, resulting in the deaths of 11 troops.
