The Rivers State University (RSU) has announced the expulsion of Suanu Wisdom Nwiyara for shooting dead a fellow student on the campus.
Nwiyaara, a 300-level Architectural Science student, was arrested by the police on August 19 while attempting to escape after he killed Osundu Chimela, a final year student, of the institution.
The two are believed to belong to rival cult groups as a gun was found on the deceased.
In a statement released by the institution on Wednesday, the RSU management said the expulsion of Nwiyaara was necessary as the institution has zero tolerance for cultism and all forms of violence, especially within its premises.
Although earlier reports claimed Nwiyaara is related to Hon. Prince Ngbor, member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the Rivers State House of Assembly, but the lawmaker had since denied any link to him.
