On Saturday, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, paid a visit to Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, in Port Harcourt.
Emmanuel and Wike had a three-hour private discussion behind closed doors, with Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom present. Although the meeting’s specifics could not be determined, there may be some connection to the turmoil engulfing the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

After their meeting in Port Harcourt, Emmanuel spoke with the media and explained that his visit to Wike was motivated by ‘brotherly love.
Emmanuel dodged a clear answer when asked if his trip to Rivers had any political motivation.
He said, “If it is politics, I would have told you I came in for politics. I came in to see my brother. Why are you asking me about the mission?
“I am in my brother’s house. This is not the first time, this is not the second time, and this is not the third time you are seeing me here.
“But I think this is the season of love. Within this period, you don’t actually demonstrate that love. Love not shown is love wasted. I think that is what we are trying to demonstrate.”
