On Wednesday, a trailer and a Volkswagen bus were involved in a collision on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that resulted in two fatalities and one injury. The accident happened in the Oniwowo, Ogunmakin region.
The event was confirmed to news reporters in Abeokuta by Mr. Ahmed Umar, the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun.
Umar claimed that one of the drivers’ excessive speed and loss of control resulted in the accident, which happened at around 4.30 a.m.
He stated that an Iveco trailer with the registration number DUK 517 XA and a Volkswagen bus with the registration number MUS 05 YF were the two vehicles involved in the collision.
Four persons in total were reportedly involved in the mishap, according to the FRSC chairman.
According to Umar, the deceased’s remains were placed in the FOS Morgue in Ipara, while the injured person was transported to Victory Hospital in Ogere.
