There are speculations that the Biafra Nations League (BnL), a suspected terrorist organisation operating around the Bakassi Creeks, may have declined Government Ekpemukpolo, also known as Tompolo, when he offered to work with him to “protect” Nigeria’s vast oil pipelines.
According to media reports, the federal government has handed Tompolo, a warlord from the Niger Delta, a contract to secure pipelines after they were repeatedly vandalised, causing willful economic sabotage.

Sources claim that Ita Bassey, the leader of the BnL chapter in Bakassi, verified Tompolo’s attempts.
The report is alleged to have been brought by a Black Marine, thought to be a branch of BnL.
According to reports, Bassey gave a justification for rejecting the offers, stating that BnL wouldn’t be exploited by Tompolo as a means of profit.
