Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s nominee for president, met with some governors who were chosen under the party platform on Monday.
At his home in Lagos, Tinubu hosted a meeting with the governors to plan for the general election of 2023.
Kassim Shettima, the vice presidential candidate for the ruling party, was also present at the meeting.
Atiku Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi State, Bello Matawalle, Nasir El-Rufai, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the governor of Jigawa State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the governor of Kano State, were among the APC governors present at the meeting.
The meeting’s specifics were not made public at the time this report was filed.
When President Muhammadu Buhari’s term expires in 2023, the APC candidate for president hopes to succeed him.
In the 2023 presidential election, Tinubu would face Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, Peter Obi of the Labour Party, Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, and other contenders.
