The attack on the Kuje Medium Security Custodial Center in the Federal Capital Territory has been denounced by Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate (FCT).
On Tuesday, a large group of terrorists attacked the prison and then freed their captives, leaving a path of carnage and death in their wake.
In response to the event, Tinubu urged the appropriate authorities to detain the attackers and evading detainees.
The call was made by the APC leaders in a statement released in Abuja by his media officer, Mr. Tunde Rahman.
The constant terrorism assaults plaguing the nation, according to Tinubu, are alarming.
In addition to urging Nigerians to be watchful and unified behind constituted authorities, the former two-term governor of Lagos State stated that any inmates who escaped the facility ought to be re-arrested and brought back to it.
“These incessant attacks on government’s institutions and innocent citizens are a sad reminder that we still have a lot to do to put these evil forces in check.”
Tinubu stated that Nigerians must all continue to be watchful and unified while urging for thorough investigations into the tragedy.
He continued by saying that this time required both deep reflection and national solidarity.
However, he argued that Nigerians should back President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration in its efforts to fight militants and stand up to agents of evil.
He expressed sympathy to the loved ones of those who perished in the incident and urged the administration to keep giving aid and medical care to those who were hurt.
