The President-Elect, Bola Tinubu, claims to be healthy and strong after arriving back in Nigeria from France on Monday, debunking rumours that he was critically ill.
The aircraft carrying the President-Elect, who had been officially outside of Nigeria since March 22, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 4:30 p.m. today. He returned roughly one month before his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

Immediately after his return from France, Tinubu said this at his home in the Asokoro neighbourhood of Abuja. He added that he is still engaging with those who will make up his cabinet but that he is ready for his inauguration on May 29.
He returned with his wife, Senator Oluremi, and was welcomed by numerous high-ranking All Progressives Congress (APC) members, including Kashim Shettima, the Vice-President-elect, Simon Lalong, the Governor of Plateau State, and Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives.
