The Lagos State Police Command has detained three suspects in connection with an alleged daylight robbery at Alaba International Market in the state’s Ojo area.
The suspects, Olawale Qudus, aka Lala, 25, Ajayi Olayemi, 22, and Wasiu Nurudeen, 20, were reportedly apprehended by an anti-robbery team attached to the Ojo Divisional Police Station around 2 p.m. on Saturday following a distress call from the market’s leadership.
According to reports, the suspects had a locally made pistol with three live ammunition, 12 cellphones, and a motorcycle with the registration plate KUS753QQ.
According to Source, a police source SAID; “During the course of investigation, Olayemi confessed that he had a personal locally-made pistol which he hid with one live cartridge. He further confessed to have been shot on the day of the incident that led to their arrest. The pistol has been recovered as an exhibit.”
CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and said the investigation was underway.
Ajisebutu added, “The suspects and the exhibits will be transferred to the CP Special Squad for more discreet investigation.”
