Operatives of the Adamawa State Police Command have arrested three persons over what it called midnight ‘house to house robberies’.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Suleiman Nguroje, who disclosed this in a statement on Sunday said the three suspects were rounded up on September 24, 2021, following a ‘special action plan’ on an ongoing fight against violent crimes across the state.
“The Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Ahmed Barde, deployed command operatives attached to Yola Division along with vigilantes and luckily apprehended three for armed robbers,” the command stated.
Three suspects were identified as; Kalifa Mustapha, 20; Tumba Abubakar, 27; and Faisal Abdullahi, 21.
According to the statement, the three, who are residents of Shagari Phase 1, Phase 2 and Abuja Street in Yola South Local Government Area, specialise in midnight house to house attacks.
“Investigation so far reveals that the three suspects belong to a syndicate of seven that attacked 22 houses within three months,” the police stated, adding that the suspects robbed the occupants of such houses of their valuables.
