Supporters of Yoruba Nation agitator Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, are concerned after learning that their hero has been diagnosed with a possible kidney problem.
InsightnaijaTV had earlier reported that Chief Yomi Aliyyu (SAN), one of his Ibadan-based lawyers, stated this in an interview with BBC Yoruba.
Aliyyu, who claimed that Igboho contracted the illness while imprisoned in Benin Republic, could not say definitively whether the illness was related to the kidneys or the lungs.
He stated that the Yoruba Nation agitator was critically ill and had been rushed to the hospital for treatment. He stated that Igboho required immediate medical attention.
“Igboho was not diagnosed with this particular sickness before he was arrested in Cotonou, ( Benin Republic capital). It was so critical that they had to rush him to the hospital.
“I can’t tell if he has been returned to the prison from the hospital but what I know is, he’s battling ill health and it seems his kidney and lungs are already being affected.
“Even though I cannot tell which part of his body the sickness has really affected, I know it has to do with his internal organs.”
Some of his supporters who spoke with InsightnaijaTV on Wednesday expressed concern about the new development.
Dele Ogunleye, one of them, claimed Igboho was not sick when he was arrested.
He said, ” This is what we have been saying, this sickness, I believe is not natural. Why this time? He might have been injected. I believe they just want to get rid of him.by any means.
” But he must not die. Government of Nigeria and Benin Republic should know that Igboho is not somebody that can be killed like a chicken.”
