Three teachers and a School administrator under Education District ll were part of Public school Educators who recently received car awards from the Lagos State Government for contributing towards the quality of education in the State.
Speaking at the Teachers Merit Award programme in Education District 2, Maryland, the Permanent Secretary of the District, Mrs. Anike Adekanye said, the award is given to teachers and administrators who have been outstanding in teaching and administrations of Schools, to encourage others to do more for the education sector in Lagos State.
Mrs. Adekanye noted that out of the 13 cars provided by Lagos State Government to award teachers and administrators across schools in the State, 4 cars were won by staffs in the district.
She urged the winners of the cars and the entire teaching staff of Education District II to keep up their selfless service, so as to bring the best out of the students in the State.
While appreciating Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo for their efforts towards improving quality education, the permanent secretary pledged that the teaching staff and administrators in Education District ll will not relent in giving their best no matter the challenges faced.
In an address, one of the recipients of the cars who spoke on behalf of the Awardees in District II, Mrs. Buhari Ovinuyon expressed gratitude to God and the Government of Lagos State, advising teachers to improve themselves, effectively teach the students under their care, so as to be worthy of recognition.
Mrs. Buhari Ovinuyon won the best Administrator Junior Category, Mr. Akinlade Akinbode won the best teacher Junior School Category, Mr. Odenike Abolanle won the Best Teacher Senior School Categor while Mr. Gbademosi Temitope won the Best Teacher Junior Category.
