Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, was attacked with water sachets by suspected hoodlums on Wednesday while visiting Kogi State.
Kwankwaso was in Lokoja, the state capital, to open the offices for his campaign and the secretariat of the party.
Suspected hoodlums broke into the location as the candidate arrived at a well-known hotel to meet his supporters and began hurling water sachets at him.
At the late Abubakar Audu‘s country residence in Ogbonicha, where Kwankwaso had previously been, a similar incident had taken place.
He was accused of attempting to blend in with the late ex-followers governor’s in an effort to win them over.
A presidential candidate’s media adviser, going by the name Musa Yunusa, said that Kwankwaso is from Kogi and that the supporters’ behaviour was typical of politics.
