As part of activities marking its 20th anniversary, the New Era Foundation, organisers of the annual Spelling Bee competition for Primary and Secondary schools in Lagos State has donated 10 thousand copies of a compendium of words spelt during the annual competition since inception.
The New Era Foundation is a non-Governmental, non-political organisation established by the former first lady of Lagos State and the current Senator representing Lagos Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Mrs Oluremi Tinubu.
Presenting the copies of the compendium to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja, Senator Tinubu expressed optimism that in addition to boosting the vocabulary of participants, the New Era Dictionary would further contribute to the development of primary and secondary education in the State.
Governor Sanwo-Olu who thanked Senator Tinubu and the Foundation for the gesture, promised the State Government’s continued collaboration with the Foundation to ensure that it becomes an enduring legacy.
A student from one of the Secondary school in the State who represented others at the ceremony, MissTijani Oluwaseyi expressed appreciation to all the stakeholders.
