The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in Delta, Sheriff Oborevwori, has won the state’s governorship election.
Oborevwori, who received 360 234 votes, beat Ovie Omo-Agege, who received 240 229 votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidature.

There were 3, 221, 697 registered voters for the election, according to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) returning officer Georgewill Owunari.
While there were 671, 737 legitimate ballots, there were only 710, 829 accredited voters. While there were reportedly 687, 121 ballots cast, 15, 384 were rejected.
Since the restoration of democracy in 1999, the PDP has been in charge of Delta State.
The main opposition party’s vice presidential candidate was the outgoing governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.
