Shehu Sani, a former senator who represented Kaduna Central in the 8th Assembly, made fun of people who were still having second thoughts about the outcome of the Osun State governorship election on Saturday.
According to Senator Sani, who ran for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship ticket in Kaduna State but lost to Hon. Isah Mohammed Ashiru, a former member of the House of Representatives, those who are still researching the election results are doing so in order to prepare for their PhD programs.
On his verified Twitter profile, the former legislator stated on Sunday, “Those still studying the Osun result may be doing so for PhD theses.”
Sani was responding to Ismail Omipidan’s assertion that the governor and the All Progressives Congress (APC) were still analyzing the election results. Omipidan serves as the chief press secretary to Adegboyega Oyetola, the governor of Osun State.
Omipidan said the APC had taken note of the election results that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared in the early hours of Sunday. Omipidan repeated the claim during the Channels TV program “Politics Today,” which SaharaReporters watched.
Omipidan stated that after carefully analyzing the results and meeting with important stakeholders, the party and its incumbent governor would react to the election’s outcome.
Similar to this, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the National Chairman of the APC, stated early on Sunday morning that he was not yet informed of the formal release of the election results.
Adamu made this observation while participating on the Arise TV Morning Show program, which began at 8:00 am, a few hours after INEC announced that Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP had won the election and would be the next governor.
