The Special Fraud Unit of the Nigeria Police has arraigned a Property Manager, Ayodeji Abayomi Williams before a Special Offences Court in Ikeja over allegations of stealing the sum of about eighty million Naira.
Arraigning the defendant, the Police Counsel, Justine Aernan told the court that while in the employment of RAO Investment Co. Ltd., Abayomi conspired with other persons now at large to commit a felony and stealing the said sum from his employer and convert to personal use.
He urged the Court to take the plea of the defendant and fixed a date for trial.
Ayodeji Williams pleaded not guilty to the five-count charges level against him.
Subsequently his counsel, Mr. Azeez Atanda informed the Court that a bail application has been filed urging the Court to grant him bail in liberal terms.
The presiding judge, Justice Mojisola Dada adjourned till January 14, 2021, to entertain the bail application, while ordering that the defendant be remanded in Nigeria Correctional Center
