A suspected explosive device went off in the Nayinawa forest region of Damaturu, the capital of Yobe State, injuring a 7-year-old Almajiri student.
According to reports, the event happened at 9 am on Sunday when a loud noise caused the locals to flee for safety. There were no reported fatalities, though.

t, according to Dungus Abdulkarim, the Yobe State police public relations officer, even if the incident’s exact cause is yet unknown.
“Yes, we are aware of the incident, but the information is still sketchy. We have dispatched our Anti-Bomb Squad to the scene, and we will inform you of the outcome,” the police spokesman said.
“The victim has been taken to hospital for medication because he was the only person injured.”
The victim was then transported immediately to a Damaturu specialty hospital for treatment.
One of the North-East states hit by the more than ten-year-old Boko Haram conflict is Yobe. Borno and Adamawa are close by states.
It has not yet been determined whether Sunday’s blast is related to the insurgents.
Around seven months ago, an explosion of a similar nature took place at a spa in Yobe State’s Abasha Ward’s Gashua Local Government Area.
