Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, the Emir of Ilorin, has endorsed AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the governor of Kwara State, in his campaign for reelection.
The governor has performed exceptionally well, according to the king, earning a second term in office.
He continued by saying that he has demonstrated sufficient dedication to the growth and welfare of the public to merit a further term in office.
The Emir spoke on Monday at the Government House in Ilorin at the annual traditional Sallah homage known as Bareke.
The Emir claimed that the administration’s accomplishments are clear and praised the governor’s active style of leadership.
“I have seen that Your Excellency is performing, and you are ready to work more to better the lots of Kwarans. You have just started. It is my wish and prayer that you are given another mandate to achieve more,” the Emir said, praying Allah to grant the governor more strength, good health and required wisdom to fulfill his dreams for the state.
The governor’s riding position during the Ilorin Durbar festival on Sunday, as well as the government’s assistance in making the socio-cultural event a huge success, were both praised by the Emir, who referred to AbdulRazaq as a true son of the Ilorin Emirate.
He urged all Ilorin descendants to uphold the values of love and unity, which are among the Ilorin Durbar’s guiding principles.
In response, AbdulRazaq said that by elevating the Ilorin Durbar and numerous other state events to key categories for public spending under culture and tourism, his administration had institutionalized them.
“This will get better in the coming years as we ramp up investments in tourism and culture,” he added.
