Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-olu says the successes recorded by his administration was as a result of collaboration between the executive and legislature in the State.
Sanwoolu who stated this on thursday 24, 2021 while signing into law three bills recently passed by the State’s house of Assembly noted that the new laws would further ensure good governance. The Governor commended the lawmakers for prompt and timely passage of bills stressing that the lawmakers have put the state ahead by proactively worked on the three bills. The Governor signed into law, the amended Lagos State Sports law, with a promise to establish eight new mini stadia across the State.
Appending his signature to the State Sports Commission (Amendments) Bill, 2021, at the Lagos House, Alausa Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu stressed that the new law was aimed at galvanizing youth development through sporting activities
“The amendment is really to deepen sporting opportunities at the grassroots to ensure that we use sports, not just one particular sports, but to ensure that Sports development is representational and we’ll developed in all the nooks and crannies of Lagos and that is why the modern schools we are building now have standard sporting facilities, not just football pitches”
Earlier, Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon.Mudasiru Obasa said lawmakers have always work for the progress of the State through synergy with the executive.
The Lagos Assembly had amended the law to further create job opportunities for the teeming youths in the State.
The event was witnessed by the Speaker of the State Assembly, Chief Mudashiru Obasa, selected members of the House,Commissioner for Justice, the State Head of Service and other top government functionaries.
