The Lagos State Government has urged all Organizations and offices operating in the State to always put in place mandatory precautionary and safety measures.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu made the appeal in a message to the Lagos State Occupational Safety and Health Conference organized by the Lagos Safety Commission, LSC, in commemoration of this year’s World Day of health and Safety at Work.
Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Mr. Tayo Bamgbose-Martins, Governor Sanwo-Olu
reiterated his administration’s commitment to providing a sound and Resilent Occupational Safety Standards to minimise hazards and health emergencies in Work Places.
The Governor commended the State safety commission for being proactive in the discharge of its responsibility.
In a goodwill message, a former Attorney-General in Lagos state, Olasupo Sasore described the setting up of a safety agency as a necessity for good governance.
Earlier, the Director-General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola said the Commission has been up and doing in the development of safety Guidelines for the reopening of economic activities post COVID-19 lock down.
Mr. Lanre Mojola said that the LSC would keep spreading the message of safety, adding that there are adequate regulations and laws to ensure that workers can discharge their duties in a safe and conducive environment.
