In some regions of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered a ban on the operating of commercial motorbikes, generally known as Okadas.

David was killed and burned by some enraged okada riders in the state’s Lekki district, a tragic incident for which ten people had previously been arrested.
Sanwo-Olu said the instruction covers all roads and several local governments, including Eti-Osa, Ikeja, Surulere, Lagos Island, Lagos Mainland, and Apapa, while speaking with all DPOs and Area Commanders across the state at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
