Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has assured the Association of Lagos State Retired Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS) of his administration’s commitment in supporting and taking welfare of its members paramount.
Sanwo-olu stated this in his speech at the opening ceremony of the 8th Summit of the association held at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos on Tuesday.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Community Affairs, Dr Wale Ahmed, congratulated and praised the association for their vision and commitment, which according to him has been the driving force that have sustained the summit as a platform for generating ideas and initiatives for the continued growth and development in the state.
Governor Sanwo-Olu added that in the past two years”Our administration have remained focused and resolute in our approach and implementation of our policies and procedures, and we planned to do more to enable the people and residents of Lagos State enjoy dividends of democracy”, Sanwo-Olu said.
Ealier in his welcome address, the President of Association of Lagos State Retired Head of Service and Permanent Secretaries (ALARHOSPS), Dr. Femi Olugbile reiterated the commitments of the association towards protection of the welfare of its members.
This, he said, was to pay back its members who have given so much in the service of the society.
According to him, “ALARHOSPS has among its defining objectives the protection of the welfare of its members who have given so much in the service of society. Alongside that is an abiding interest in the the optimal functioning and development of the Civil Service, to which all the members have devoted their best working years”, he said.
Olugbile explained that in choosing the theme of the 8th Summit “Enhancing the status of Lagos as a resilient and livable Megacity- with focus on Safety, hygiene, political and economic stability and access to goods and services, the association was persuaded that the great economic and developmental strides being taken by Governor Babajide Sanwo-olu and his government and thus urged all civil servants to reciprocate the kind gesture.
Also in his goodwill message, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr Hakeem Muri-Okunola, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Public Service Office, Mr. Samson Ajibade, congratulated and commended the executive and entire members of ALARHOSPS, for their consistency in organising the summit to envision with the state government, strategies to enhance quality of life and service delivery in Lagos State.
The opening ceremony has in attendance Secretary to the State Government and former Head of Service Mrs Folashade Jaji, Chairman of Civil Service Commission, Mrs Olubunmi Fabanwo, Former Heads of Service,Mr Adesegun Ogunlewe, Mrs Oluseyi Williams, Mrs Olabowale Ademola and Mrs Folasade Adesoye among other dignitaries at the opening ceremony if the summit.
