President Emmanuel Macron of France expressed his sympathies with Ukrainians, calling the photos from Bucha “unbearable.”
Macron expressed his sympathy for Ukrainians and the victims, while also stating that Russian officials will be held accountable for the atrocities.
“The images reaching us from Boutcha, a liberated town near Kyiv, are unbearable,” Macron said on his Twitter account on Sunday. Hundreds of cowardly citizens were slaughtered in the streets.
“My compassion for the victims, my solidarity with the Ukrainians. The Russian authorities will have to answer for these crimes.”
Recall that images of Ukrainian people lying dead on the streets of Bucha had already surfaced, with residents claiming that the victims had been slain by Russian military without apparent provocation.
According to Sky Sports, Bucha’s mayor, Anatoliy Fedoruk, said that more than 300 people had been slain.
Russia and Ukraine have been at odds since February of this year.
Due to political tensions between the two countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin authorized the invasion of Ukraine.
