Cristiano Ronaldo, the Manchester United forward, has stated that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not solely to blame for the team’s dismal results.
The players, according to Ronaldo, must also take responsibility.
With United having only 14 points from their first eight games, Solskjaer has been under increased scrutiny this season.
The Norwegian’s rule will be put to the test again on Sunday when they face Liverpool at home.
Ronaldo has supported Solskjaer ahead of the game, claiming that previous performances and outcomes have as much to do with the players as they do with the manager.
The 36-year-old told Sky Sports:
“We have to [take responsibility]. To play for Manchester United and to be a coach of Manchester United you will always be criticised, and you have to accept that it’s part of the business to criticise you.
“You play for one of the biggest clubs in the world, all eyes are on you and it is normal. You have to deal with it.
“The coaches, the players, when we lose we are in the same boat, when we win it is the same.
“You have to deal with the pressure, the pressure is here, it will continue to be here when you win or lose and you have to deal with that. It is part of the job.”
