Robbers have surrounded Akure’s Ajipowo estate along Ondo Road, where they broke into thirteen different stores and stole millions of naira’s worth of products.
On Tuesday morning, prospective business owners arrived to open their stores only to discover that they had been broken into.
The robbers entered one of the complex’s stores by breaking in from behind and carried all of the loot through the roofs of the other stores.
They were able to remove commodities like generators, sacks of rice and other food, expensive fabrics, numerous pairs of shoes, and exotic beverages, among others.
Alice Oni, one of the store owners, used loans she got to simply stock her stores before starting to repay them.
Jacob Orisayomi, a prominent member of the neighborhood, bemoaned the fact that Ajipowo Estate is known for being frequently targeted by robbers and emphasized that many business owners have left the area as a result of the numerous robberies that have occurred there.
In order to solve the persistent criminality in Ajipowo Community, he urged his fellow landowners to work with security organizations.
