The All Progressives Congress (APC) administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma has allegedly done a lot for womenfolk in the state, especially by choosing a woman as his running mate, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged all young and old women in Imo State to support his re-election bid by voting en masse for him on November 11, 2023.
This appeal was made by Mrs. Tinubu on Friday at the Ndubuisi Kanu Square in Owerri, the state capital, as the 2023 Women’s August gathering came to a close.

The special guest of honour, the President’s wife, reaffirmed the Tinubu administration’s commitment to make Nigeria a more wealthy country that all citizens could be proud of.
The host and governor’s wife, Mrs. Chioma Uzodimma, urged women to continue advocating for peace and harmony in all walks of life during her remarks. She also stressed that the Uzodimma-led administration will continue to place a high priority on the welfare and well-being of women in order to progress them.
The governor, who was clearly pleased, shared his wife’s views on the advancement and empowerment of women.
The Igbo women organise the annual August meeting, which gives women from all over the state the chance to get together with their local counterparts, families, and friends to talk about issues related to community development, women’s development, and issues of socioeconomic and cultural importance.
Women from the state’s 27 local government areas and other women’s organisations participated in a march-past to kick off the event.
