A Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Gideon Bakare has been suspended over an allegation of attempting to sleep with a member’s wife in Akure.
Pastor Bakare was seen in a video that went viral on the social media and naked in a compromising position with a woman identified as a wife to one of the member of the Church in Akure, Ondo State.
The video which had generated a lot of reaction from Nigerians on social media platforms lead to the immediate suspension of the pastor by the Church Administrators.
According to a statement by the RCCG spokesperson, Olaitan Olubiyi on Wednesday, July 9, 2020 said the alleged pastor has been suspended for attempting adultery which is capable of putting the Church to shame.
He stated that “Bakare who was an Assistant Pastor in the Church was recently accused of attempted act of adultery with a woman in her matrimonial home in Akure Ondo State.
“The Church disassociate itself from such immoral acts of Mr Bakare and has described it as being completely contrary to the values, doctrines, believe, and practices of the RCCG and the word of God.
“The Church after reviewing the report of our investigation, noted that by his conduct, Bakare has not only tainted is personal reputation but has portrayed the Church in a bad light.”
