The presidency at the weekend attacked former President Olusegun Obasanjo, saying the former president has descended from his lofty heights of a Commander-in-Chief to that of a Divider-in-Chief.
Speaking at a virtual meeting earlier in the week, Obasanjo accused the Buhari administration of mismanaging the country’s socio-economic development.
He said old fault lines that were disappearing have opened up under Buhari, adding that hatred, disintegration and separation are “being heard loud and clear almost everywhere”.
But reacting in a statement on Sunday, the presidential spokesman said Obasanjo has made several attempts to divide the nation while Buhari continues to promote unity and nation building.
He said former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a “lowly…Divider-in-Chief” after he criticised President Muhammadu Buhari of running the country aground.
Obasanjo and Buhari were former allies in the run up to the 2015 general elections when Buhari was the candidate of the then opposition party All Progressives Congress.
