Prior to their preseason games, including their meeting against Liverpool on Tuesday, Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag has laid out his team’s strategy.
The Red Devils flew to Asia on Friday to start their preseason tour there.
United will play six friendlies in Thailand, Australia, Norway, and back at Old Trafford during a very hectic preseason.
As United rebuilds, Ten Hag said he is trying hard to convey his thoughts and playing philosophy to his team.
“We want to play a proactive style of football,” he told the club’s media. “On the ball and off the ball. We are brave and willing to have the ball, to give each other options. But also off the ball, to get the pressing style is what we’re working for together.”
“Of course, I want to bring the energy to my team,” he said. “But I must say, the players do really well. They are really focused. They bring, for themselves, the energy.
“You see, they enjoy playing football. They enjoy playing football together and they really work well together.”
Tuesday’s match between Manchester United and Liverpool in Bangkok is followed by a Friday flight to Melbourne to face Melbourne Victory at the MCG.
