Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, claims that participating in politics has made him a poorer man.
While in power in southern Anambra State from 2006 to 2014, Obi, 60, has been accused of tax evasion, money laundering, using shell firms, and running overseas bank accounts.
Obi claims that politics gave him a lousy hand rather than benefitting him in his reaction to the Pandora Papers probe.
“Politics, if anything…
“If there’s anything I regret in my life, it’s entering into politics because it made me poorer,” Obi says in an interview with AriseTV.
Before entering politics, Obi claimed to have been a successful businessman.
In the general elections of 2019, Obi was the PDP’s vice presidential candidate.
