Fisayo Soyombo, the Foundation for Investigative Journalism’s (FIJ) Editor-in-Chief and Founder, has been freed from the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The investigative journalist Soyombo, who arrived at the force headquarters around 10 a.m. on Monday, was not released until 5 p.m. InsightnaijaTV learnt.
Usman Baba Alkali, the Inspector-General of Police, is said to have ordered Soyombo’s detention (IGP).
Soyombo was approached for an interview in connection with a report he wrote on the awarding of transit police camp projects that did not exist, despite the contract sums being paid.
