The abduction of over 20 people by bandits has been reported by the Kaduna police command in Unguwan Gimbiya, Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of the state.
The attack took occurred in the early hours of Friday, December 3, according to Mohammed Jalige, the state’s police spokeswoman.
Before security officers arrived, the bandits assaulted the village around 1 a.m., killing two persons and abducting 20 inhabitants, according to Jalige.
He said; “A combined team of security operatives has launched a manhunt for the kidnappers with a view to rescuing the kidnapped victims and arresting the criminals.”
In another report, Omoyele Sowore, a journalist and activist, has posted images of a nine-year-old boy who was kidnapped alongside his father by robbers from the University of Abuja.
Professor Bassey Ubom and his son, Tete, were kidnapped from the University staff quarters on November 2, 2021, together with ten others.
Sowore, who visited the academician over the weekend, wrote on his Facebook page that the little child traveled for kilometers like his father and other kidnap victims and was forced to sip water from the same pond as cattle.
