Mauricio Pochettino, a tactician from Argentina, has left his position as coach of Paris Saint-Germain of France.
On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the Ligue 1 team announced the news on their official microblogging website.
Pochettino was hired PSG manager in January 2021, InsightnaijaTV cites.
Despite having an all-star lineup that included Neymar, Lionel Messi, and Mbappe, the former player managed to win the Ligue 1 championship for PSG but was unable to bring home the Champions League trophy for the team.
The Argentine, though, won the Coupe de France Final and placed second in the league during his rookie season.
On Tuesday, Paris Saint-Germain announced that Mauricio Pochettino had left the team. They added: “Paris Saint-Germain confirm that Mauricio Pochettino has ended his job at the club.
“We would like to thank Mauricio Pochettino and his staff for their work and wish them the best for the future.”
Former Head coach of Nice, Christophe Galtier is expected to be confirmed as his replacement.
