The 1,234-member Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council was presented on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
Doyin Okupe, director general of the council, spoke to journalists in Abuja and explained that more than 80% of all new voters in the upcoming general elections are supporters of the Labour Party. He claimed those who believe the party has only social media supporters will be in for a surprise at the polls in 2023.

Okupe continued to serve as the council’s director general, and Mohammed Zarewa, a retired assistant inspector general of police, currently serves as the council’s chairman.
Clement Ojukwu, the Labour Party’s national organising secretary, read the names of the members of the party’s campaign council for the 2023 presidential election.
The 1,234 member campaign council is an inclusive organisation, in his opinion.
Okupe emphasised the party’s campaign approach in his remarks, stressing that the support base extends beyond social media.
