Controversial sociopolitical activist Deji Adeyanju claims that Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate for 2023 Peter Obi went to the annual Shilloh programme hosted by the Living Faith Church intending to receive Bishop David Oyedepo’s endorsement but left dissatisfied.
Thursday’s session was conducted at the church’s headquarters in Ota, Ogun State, and several of Obi’s fans announced on social media that he would receive the revered man of God’s endorsement.
Adeyanju, the LP candidate, was hoping for an open endorsement from Oyedepo, which is why he attended the religious programme. The former Anambra State Governor was introduced by the vice president of the church, David Abioye, to a raucous reception.
On Friday, December 09, 2022, the social critic tweeted: “Obi brought his 2023 politics to Shiloh but failed to get an open endorsement from Bishop Oyedepo. I personally fear politicians that try to mix politics and religion together.
“Nigerians are in love with corrupt thieving politicians that is why they are supporting the 3 leading thieves. There are better options on the ballot for February,” he wrote.
