In response to claims that he misled the public in the run-up to the 2023 elections, Peter Obi has addressed the Bola Tinubu Presidential Candidate Organization.
The opposition camp charged the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate for using US strategy and disseminating a derogatory and divisive film.
In the viral video, Obi claimed that Tinubu’s supporters were circulating a WhatsApp message urging the Yoruba not to support him.
Voting for the former governor of Anambra would support seaports in the South-South and South-East regions of the nation, the text cautioned.
The Igbos won’t invest in Lagos State anymore; instead, they’ll go to Delta and Rivers. In Lagos, they might even cease erecting homes, it was added.

Festus Keyamo, a spokesman for the Tinubu campaign, claimed that organisations backing the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer have distinct affiliations with reputable promoters.
The Minister of State (Labour) issued a statement on Monday challenging Obi to identify the source and person(s) responsible for the Whatsapp broadcast.
In order to portray himself as the victim of an ethnic agenda, Keyamo said that the former bank chief made up the details and distributed the film as part of his campaign strategy.
He claimed that Obi suddenly realised that Nigerians were starting to shatter his illusions since his speeches lacked originality, substance, and concrete solutions to our problems.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) maintains that Obi’s remarks are full of misleading information and jargon and are obviously a cunning ploy to deflect attention from an examination of his unimpressive performance as governor.

The minister claimed that one element of the US Strategy (much to the unsuccessful “Dubai Strategy” that he and his former boss adopted in 2019) was to go back to Nigeria, incite ethnic animosity among voters, and create havoc.
According to Keyamo, Obi planned to “create an assassination attempt and employ LP youths disguised in APC caps and T-shirts to attack party headquarters.”
According to Tinubu’s team, it was a component of the US Plan and the first of several explosive deeds planned by a “ill-prepared but desperate contender.
Emeka Obasi, Obi’s media assistant, responded by emphasising that his principle is not the kind of person to fabricate an assassination attempt.
Do they intend to carry out such an endeavour and hold Obi accountable for it in any way? We should publish it in the media because the general public needs to be informed.
Does Keyamo have more knowledge than we have and is just using this as an excuse to make excuses? Why would he make such a foolish statement, exactly? ”
Obasi asserted that Obi is not one of the Old Order who are perpetually in need of power and that Keyamo’s remark was abhorrent.
