Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s nominee for president, met with Pa Ayo Adebanjo, the head of Afenifere, and other leaders from the South and Middle Belt on Tuesday, August 23, 2022.
The former governor of Anambra State tweeted about the occasion and mentioned that other stakeholders and national leaders of the Labour Party were present.
“Presently visiting PA Ayo Adebanjo and members of the South and Middle Belt Leadership Forum. The national leaders of the Labour Party and other stakeholders are here too. -PO” he tweeted.
The meeting’s agenda, which was not made public, was most likely to be regarding the general elections in 2023.
Both the All Progressives Congress and the People’s Democratic Party have been under fire from Pa Adebanjo and the South and Middle Belt Leadership Forum; they may end up supporting Obi for president.
