Presidential Candidate of Labour Party, Peter Obi has met with Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike behind closed-doors in Port Harcourt.
Wednesday’s gathering took place at Wike’s house.
Although the purpose of the conference is unknown, it might have been related to the 2023 Presidential elections.
Obi’s visit comes after Wike received a visit from Dave Umahi, the governor of Ebonyi State, in Port Harcourt.
InsightnaijaTV reported that Wike was conspired against by some “vociferous forces” within the Peoples Democratic Party, who believed that the Rivers Governor would be “uncontrollable” as the Vice President.
By the party’s screening committee, Wike had received the majority of the votes. However, the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar preferred Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa over him.
Meanwhile, the Rivers Governor has continued to maintain silence on the ill-treatment meted on him by some members of the party.
