The People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) governorship candidates have revealed their final effort to bring a sustainable resolution to the long-running political dispute between the party’s presidential candidate, Abubakar Atiku, and Governor Nyesom Wike of River State.
The National Working Committee of the PDP will meet with the PDP governorship aspirants soon to make a decision.
As one of the PDP candidates for governor in Kaduna State, Isa Mohammed Ashiru, hinted that the conflict between Atiku and Wike has already been addressed, more information about the anticipated meeting with the PDP NWC has come to light.
To make a decision, “we are going to convene with the National Working Committee,” he declared.

He further stated that the PDP NWC and the PDP governorship aspirants would be meeting to discuss the issue.
Ashiru had earlier accompanied a group of 16 PDP candidates for governor, including those from Jigawa, Katsina, and Sokoto, to meet with Wike at his home in Rumueprikon, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, in Rivers state.
The PDP candidates urged Wike to back Atiku, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, the party’s national chairman, Senator Iyorchia Ayu, and their bids for the president.
The PDP governorship aspirants particularly pleaded with Wike to pardon Atiku and Ayu during the two-hour meeting.
