The National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, and former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Thursday, held a meeting behind closed doors in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Secondus arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, with his entourage at 12:19 pm.
THEWILL gathered that the PDP Chairman’s visit may not be unconnected with the internal wrangling within the PDP.
A crack had emerged in the party’s National Working Committee two weeks ago, after the resignation of some officials and calls for Secondus’ resignation by some NWC members.
Leaders of the PDP comprising governors, Board of Trustees, National Assembly caucus, however, intervened last Tuesday.
After a resolution of the crisis, the PDP leaders agreed that the party’s national convention should hold in October to elect a new leadership.
